We sincerely hope that the young and the old, regardless of sex, race, and nationality can enjoy a good quality of life through fruitful interchange with each other... In an increased globalized society , it is essential that the Japanese youth ,bearers of the new times of Japan , be able to express their thoughts and opinions more openly and effectively with people from other countries. Therefore, to acquire communication skills in a foreign language early in their academic stage is very important. The Japanese Government has set educational guidelines for encouraging schools to start to develop students verbal skills of English language as early as elementary school. Soon, many municipalities nationwide will include English conversation a must subject in elementary school. Students are also encouraged to participate in cross-cultural exchange events with people of various national origins. However, this drastic change ,for learning English , faces a challenge. There is both a lack of Japanese English teachers skilled in spoken English, and the lack of know-how concerned. Because the impact of this change is so great, not only the schools and educational institutions, but also local communities should cooperate in fostering momentum of this project through exerting wisdom and efforts. We believe NPO equipped with human resources and experiences has a role in this field.

Okinawan people are very proud of their unique culture, historical assets and local arts, which have been fostered through various interchanges with Asian countries as well as U.S.A. Taking advantage of its natural attraction of sub-tropical oceanic beauty, Okinawa now enjoys international acclaim as an attractive tourist venue. Okinawa as the venue for G8 Summit in 2001 contributed to this international attention further. We aim to promote Okinawa as a cross-point of the East and the West through promoting various projects such as students exchange programs, exchange events in the field of culture, sports(especially Karate)and also the receiving of working holiday-makers.

Imagine what happens ? Kids as young as elementary school can introduce to his or her foreign friends something about Okinawa and Japan in sound English or other foreign tongues. Then, gaps between cross-cultural communication could be minimum. The networking of concerned and highly-motivated institutions of NPOs , citizens , schools and government bodies is more necessary now than any other time. Human resources with foreign language capabilities and/or with lots of volunteer spirit will increase receiving power of our foreign friends.

We invite every one with the same spirit to exert efforts with us to make things different. We will contribute what we can to the society through the pursuit of diverse goals. We will keep on trying to give new inputs to our business which we believe will make a difference.
We sincerely hope that the young and the old, regardless of sex, race, and nationality can enjoy a good quality of life through fruitful interchange with each other...
